Vegas To Grand Canyon

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Chinatown cultural tour, San Francisco
  • Local Legend walking tour, New York City
  • Party bus, Las Vegas

The Stars & Stripes tour starts in Los Angeles and ends in New York City. The Stars & Stripes is an Explorer tour that takes 12 days taking you from Los Angeles to New York City. The Stars & Stripes includes trip leader, accommodation, meals, transport and some activities. Please see the Includes section for details.

O say, can you see? You'll see it all and more on this epic trip through the USA. After experiencing the best of the west, you'll jet east for three unforgettable nights in the city that never sleeps (although we don't recommend you go sans shut-eye). Think: rollerblading along Venice Beach in LA, slurping on chowder at San Fran’s Fisherman’s Wharf, throwing it all on black in Vegas and Statue of Liberty spotting in New York. It’s basically a tour of the US Hall of Fame. Seriously.

ITINERARY

Leaving the bright lights of Las Vegas behind, your next destination is Zion National Park. The highlight of any visit to Zion is the hike along the switch-back trails up to Angels Landing, for incredible views over the park and valley floor below. Take your packed lunch with you, so you can relax as you tuck in at the top, savouring the incredible views. Tonight, you’ll camp nearby to the Virgin River.

Day 2: Zion National Park - Monument Valley
With a free morning to venture back into Zion, why not try a short walk to the ‘Emerald Pools'? Or, if you don't mind getting wet, try walking 'The Narrows', a slot canyon which offers a very different experience. Then it's back on the road again and off to one of North America's most iconic landscapes. Monument Valley was used as the set for countless Western movies, including the recent remake of The Lone Ranger. Jump on your guided 4x4 tour for an overnight experience with the Navajo people, staying in a traditional mud-hut Hogan.

Passing through the Painted Desert you'll make your way to the Cameron Trading Post sat on top of the Little Colorado River Gorge. Today will define the word 'epic' as you stop off at the mighty Grand Canyon National Park. Nothing you've ever seen before will prepare you for this spectacular sight, it'll simply blow your socks off! Today there is time to explore the rim trails or walk down into the canyon along the Bright Angel Trail for a view of what only 5% of visitors to the Grand Canyon ever have the chance to see. To really see the Grand Canyon in all its glory, wait for sunset where the scenery will amaze! Please note: If you plan on enjoying a flight over the Grand Canyon we are at the mercy of when we can fly, so your flight may be this afternoon as opposed to tomorrow morning. This will unfortunately reduce the amount of time you spend walking the trails however, it does give you a very different and all-encompassing view of the canyon.

Time to put those lucky numbers to the test, not to mention your energy levels in this 24/7 party town. If you're staying on to explore Vegas, why not cruise the Strip in a super-stretch limousine or ease the pain in one of the famous all-you-can-eat buffets. Vegas isn't all about gambling and clubs, you can also check out a show, take an evening flight down the Strip or get yourself hitched by Elvis Presley (don't worry, it's not legally binding -unless you want it to be!)This trip normally concludes late in the afternoon of day 4.
